So we finally made it to California!!!!! Currently we are staying at a friend's place in Sacramento, which, as it turns out, is the capital of California. Oh how US geography does not stay in the memories. The plan for today: to go to San Francisco and enjoy the beautiful weather/scenery/people of the west coast.
California is muy better than the miles of flatland we had to endure through Iowa/Nebraska/Wyoming.. longest car ride ever:
Fortunately we found Abe Lincoln on the way, carved into a piece of stone about 50 feet tall...On the way here we stopped at Lake Tahoe, which was quite nice looking. It was unfortunately foggy-esque when we arrived, but the lake was clear and blue and huuuuge. We had no idea a lake this size could exist in mountains.. but apparently it has for a long time! We didnt stay to swim because, obviously, the beaches cost money and we are cheap. haha :P
heres some photos from the Lake:
We stayed in Reno on Sunday night because we found a great deal on a hotel/casino, the Silver Legacy, which turned out to be an even better deal because Jimmy won money playing the penny slots! Lady Luck is our best friend. But enough about that - Las Vegas will get jealous if I talk about it any more. Suffice it to say, Reno was a lot nicer than we thought it would be and the buffet at the hotel was so good, i need a poet to do it justice.
So for now its off to more Californian exploring - San Fran and all the lovely areas between here and San Diego! Will post more when we get access/time. We can't wait to see Heather in a few days!!! And red sox game on Saturday!!!!

Hi Marco... glad to see you're in CA! Go to Muir Woods to see the giant redwoods and do the PCH from SF to SD... you'll have a blast...just don't go in the sea till you get south of LA. Big Sur is awesome but watch out for the fires and drive carefully. If you want to see lots of expensive luxury sports cars drop in on Carmel for a few hours. Death Valley's a must! Love from Dad.
